Enjoy our magical Islands

The island of South uist is approx 20 mile long x 7 mile wide, along the west coast of the island are beautiful white sandy beaches running continually up the west coast. Bordering the beach is the machair land with a fantastic display of flowers during the spring and Summer months, the crofter also ploughs this arable land to grow potatoes and vegetables for their own use and corn for their animals.

The east side of the island is for the more energetic with its many hills and sea loch inlets, Ben Mor standing proud at just over 2000 ft will reward you with fantastic all round views, a fine chance to see st klda 40 miles Northwest of uist. In those hills and lochs the wild life is in abundance - deer, eagles, owls, hen harriers, grouse otters rabbit.

Their are causeways linking those chain of island together making it possible to visit Eriskay, Benbecula, North Uist, Grimsay, Berneray, and Baleshare. A day trip to the island of Barra and Vatersay is also possible (30 min ferry journey), as is Harris and Lewis (1hour ferry trip). Day trips to st Kilda are also possible in the Summer month.
